Tom Holland is one of the most popular and successful young actors in Hollywood. He is best known for his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he has also starred in a number of other successful films, including The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea, and Cherry.
Early life
Tom Holland was born in Kingston upon Thames, London, England, on June 1, 1996. His mother, Nicola Elizabeth (née Frost), is a photographer, and his father, Dominic Holland, is a comedian and author. Holland has three younger brothers: Harry, Sam, and Paddy.
Holland began dancing at a young age and attended the Nifty Feet Dance School in Wimbledon, London. In 2008, he was cast in the lead role of Billy Elliot the Musical in the West End. He played the role for two years and received critical acclaim for his performance.
Acting career
Holland made his film debut in 2012 in the disaster film The Impossible. He played the role of Lucas Bennett, a young boy who is caught up in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Holland's performance was praised by critics.
In 2015, Holland was cast as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He made his debut as the character in the film Captain America: Civil War. He has since reprised the role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Holland has also starred in a number of other films, including In the Heart of the Sea (2015), The Lost City of Z (2016), Pilgrimage (2017), The Current War (2019), and Cherry (2021).
Personal life
Holland is in a relationship with Zendaya, his co-star in the Spider-Man films. They have been dating since 2017.
Holland is a fan of Arsenal F.C. and has been a season ticket holder since he was a child. He is also a fan of video games and has said that he enjoys playing Call of Duty and Fortnite.
